Bangkok is Thailand's capital city. Bangkok was founded in 1782 by the first monarch of the present Chakri dynasty. It is now the country's spiritual, cultural, iplomatic, commercial and educational hub. Bangkok has changed into a modern, exciting and sophisticated city.
Locals are pround of the city's 700-year history and its rich traditional heritage and unique culture. Chiang Mai is one of the few places in Thailand where it is possible to find in the heart of the city centuries-old chedis and temples next to modern convenience stores and boutique hotels. Chiang Mai is also blessed with pristine natural resources of mountains (dois), waterfalla, and other nature-based tourist attractions.
Hua Hin is located in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, 281 kilometers south of Bangkok. Hua Hin, which literally means stone head in Thai, is the oldest beach resort of the country and is still very popular. Clean white sand, crystal clear water and a tranquil atmosphere has continued to attract tourists in search of peaceful and relaxing holidays.
Ko Samui is Thailand's third largest island in Surat Thani province. The numerous islands along the coast makes Surat Thani (often known as Surat in short) a perfect hideaway for vacationers from around the world. The ideal destination for many is the Penang-sized Ko Samui, and its neighbour Ko Pha-ngan a celebrated island that hosts the biggest beach full moon party. To top it all is the dazzling 250-square-kilometer Ang Thong Marine National Park, where a stunning archipelago awaits to greet visitors with their charming palm-fringed beaches, crystal clear water and colorful coral reefs. The best time to enjoy one of these islands to the fullest is from April to November.
Krabi is one of the most attractive destinations in southern Thailand. The western border of Krabi is the Andaman Sea, the northern borders are Surat Thani and Phang-nga Provinces. Krabi is an ideal gateway destination teeming with natural attractions including white sandy beaches, fascinating coral reefs, numerous large and small islands and verdant forests with caves and waterfalls. Krabi is the location of two world class beaches Ao Nang and Hat Rai Le which offer numerous diving trips, restaurants, shops etc. Additional attractions in the province are stunning limestone cliffs and rock formations which make it a heaven for rock climbers.
Pattaya, a travelers paradise, is nestled along a picturesque bay on the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand in Chon Buri province which is Bangkok nearest seaside town. Unlike other beach resorts, where natural surroundings are used as magnets to attract tourists, Pattaya makes an all-out attempt to provide the best of everything a tourist can imagine while on holiday: recreation, entertainment, sports, sightseeing and fun. Pattaya is a paradise for everyone, as it has a variety of attractions suitable for all types of visitors.
Phuket, Thailand's largest island, which is often dubbed as the pearl of the Andaman. Its natural resources- rocky peninsular, limestone cliffs, white powdery beaches, tranquil broad bays and tropical in-land forests contribute to making it the South's wealthiest, busiest, most visited and most popular island and province. Phuket has a lot more to offer its visitors other than its natural heritage sea, sand, sky, beach, forest, and world renowned diving sites. Sino-Portuguese architecture casts its spell delighting travelers to the city, while Phuket-style hospitality has never failed to impress visitors from all walks of life. For seafood lovers, there is a lot more to sample than just Phuket's famous lobster.
As with it’s somewhat more well-known neighbor Hua Hin, Cha Am is also a popular holiday destination for holidaying Thai’s due to its proximity to Bangkok. The beaches are nice, the water is clean and if you come here on a weekday, you’ll probably have the entire beach to yourself. With a quiet almost non existent nightlife, this seaside town is great for families with young children those seeking peaceful evenings and a more relaxing alternative to Hua Hin and Pattaya. And, if resorting and beaching it gets a bit monotonous, nearby are some very interesting sites to venture out to see.
